Many people asked me , why is my system slow ? , is there any strong reason , well after many questions , i found that there were a bunch of reasons why the system is slow , and here i wrote not only the reasons but also the solutions to solve them.
- Malware : Yes malware was the one of the major cause of system slowness , it eats up system resources ( RAM ) and also uses CPU ( sometimes 100% , the reason why it gets stuck ) , if the malware runs at startup , then the system gets started very slowly.
Solution : Install a anti-malware program in your computer , it protects your system against malware , i recommend to download Malwarebytes , it ranks the #1 in Anti-malware , if you have money buy Malwarebytes Pro which includes additional features , if you want to go for a free version then choose Malwarebytes Free , both of these protects your computer from malware.

- RAM : RAM also plays a key role in the working of a computer , ofcourse it is like the respiration system of a human , it is that important , everything you execute gets loaded in the RAM first , and hence a larger RAM space is needed , a 2GB RAM is mostly recommended for both 64-bit and 32-bit operating systems.
Solution : Replace your RAM ( if your RAM is less than or 1GB and if you are using a 64-bit operating system ).
- Startup : Startup programs slow down computer startup , make sure that only required and essential programs must be loaded at system startup , unnecessary programs ( the programs that you dont use much ) at startup slow down the working of your system and also system startup , they occupy the system resources and hence slow down other programs related to operating system or so.
Solution : There was a solution , all you need to do is to disable unwanted and unnecessary programs that run at startup. To know how to disable them read this post. - Software : One of the most important aspects that you have to remember is to remove unwanted / unnecessary software from your system , as long as the unwanted software is on your computer , when it gets executed it eats up system resources ( RAM ) , therefore leading to the slowness of your system.
Solution : I recommend you not to install , all the unwanted stuff into your computer , install what you want and what is necessary. For a home user , i recommend to go through the list of softwares , that our experts recommend. The TipsnTricks4all Pack , contains the softwares that were mostly required by a user at most ( normal ) conditions. - Defragmentation : Defragmentation is one of the important process that should be done , your files in the harddisk should be arranged in proper order. It also speed up your system.
Solution : The best defragmenter can do that , i recommend Defraggler , it ranks the #1 position at defraggling the disks , though the default Disk Defragmenter provided along with the operating system works , according to defraggler is the most efficient in doing the task when compared with the default ones.Defraggler is free to download and is product from piriform.
- Registry Errors : The unwanted registry files also slows down your computer , they occupy the disk space , registry files mostly come with , when you install softwares , they may contain data about the file types associated with a certain program , keys etc.
Solution : All you need to do is to clean your registry , that is filled with unwanted stuff and junk , cleaning registry does not need special skills , all you need to do is to do it with a software , i recommend CCleaner , it not only cleans registry but also other unwanted files like temporary files , browsing history , saved passwords , form data and more..
- Optimize : Simple graphics is necessary at most times , if your computer has a higher end system configuration , powerful processor and large RAM capacity , then it is ok.
Solution : Optimize your system for best performance rather than optimizing for best appearance.Dont go for optimizing for best appearance or Let windows choose what's best for my computer , this is only recommended for better system configuration , like more than 2GB of RAM and latest processor like intel i5 or so.To know more about how to read this post. - Updates : Updating your operating system is very important , updates contain fixing of certain bugs in your operating system , update files are nothing but the files that contain the programs for fixing certain bugs in the operating system , this looks like , the difference between beta versions of the softwares and the full versions , beta versions may contain bugs , and those bugs are recovered in the full versions , the updates are also similar to it , it also adds new features to your operating system , enable automatic updates in your system , by doing so your operating system gets automatically updated and you just need to manually install them.
Solution : Just enable automatic updates for your operating system and when the update(s) is downloaded , then just install them.
- Upgrades : Upgrades are very important at the present fastest changing world , the technology keeps changing from time to time.On a processor that you just bought today may not work for an operating system that comes after five years.
Solution : Upgrade your processor , motherboard chipset and operating system , if you are using Windows XP or Vista upgrade to Windows 7 ,it comes with new features , ofcourse the developer preview of Windows 8 is also good , but according to me and experts , it seemed to be unfit for PC's , it is made especially for Tablets.
- Warnings : Remember that you unplug all the necessary hardware before shutting down your computer , like USB , Wireless Internet , CD/DVD.
- Shut down in a proper way , dont shut down directly because all the programs will not be closed if you do so , the programs must be closed in order.
- Keep your computer in a good and clean surroundings , avoid dust , keep in a cool place in Air Conditioned place if possible , if not keep in a moderate climate.I recommend keeping it in a cool place could avoid over heating of mother board which at times leads to operating system errors.
- Open and clean your CPU every month , the dust entered in the CPU can also lead to slow down of your system.Be careful while cleaning , the parts are delicate.
